History of St Patrick, Southport
The Reconciliation Room
To the right as you enter the church can be found the Confessional – where the Sacrament of Reconciliation takes place. So often, in so many churches, the confessional where the sacrament of God’s forgiveness, peace and love is celebrated, has been a dark, forbidding and uninviting place.
Here we have tried to make a real feature of the Reconciliation room with a sense of light and welcome, and with etched glass depicting in various symbolic images, acts of forgiveness and reconciliation. The screen matches the panels on either side of the tabernacle. This confessional must be unique in its design and character |
